CO2 Heart Laser 2™
Transmyocardial Revascularization or TMR, is a surgical
revascularization procedure that requires visualization of the
heart. TMR may be performed either through a minimally invasive
or an open surgical approach that is determined by the surgeon.
CO2 TMR technology is a safe and effective angina relief therapy
for use where the patient has diffuse coronary vessels with poor
bypass graft targets. Because it is easily moved between
surgical suites, the CO2 Heart Laser 2 enables the surgeon to
make timely operative decisions to revascularize the heart with
CO2 TMR.
The therapeutic advantages of TMR with
the CO2Heart Laser include:
 |
Significant reduction of angina pain |
 |
Long-term pain relief |
 |
Improved patient quality of life |
 |
Significantly reduces angina symptoms |
 |
Clinical proven to show long-term
pain relief |
 |
Alternative for angina patients with
areas of the myocardium not revascularized by bypass
surgery or angioplasty alone |
 |
Works to maintain tissue integrity to
foster blood flow to the heart wall |
 |
A channel is created in milliseconds
for total therapy completed in an average of 15 minutes |
 |
Synchronized with the heartbeat to
create channels only when the heart is at rest |
 |
Less invasive TMR approaches result
in shorter surgeries. Total surgical time averages 1.5
hours CO2 Technology |
CO2 technology (1000 watts) allows the Heart Laser to create a
channel in a single pulse. The CO2 Heart Laser 2's single pulse
is synchronized with the heartbeat, firing only when the heart
is at rest. This is the point at which the heart is at reduced
risk of arrhythmia.
The CO2 Heart Laser 2's channels have been reported to maintain
tissue integrity and foster healing. These channels stimulate
measurable perfusion, when using TMR to treat areas of the heart
that other methods of treatment cannot. The straight and clean
channels may lay a foundation for vascular growth and provide
long-lasting pain relief.
The CO2 Heart Laser 2™ System
The CO2Heat Laser is a high-powered ECG-synchronized CO2 (carbon
dioxide) laser. The use of TMR with the CO2 Heart Laser 2 to
create new channels in the heart can result in patient care
improvements including:
TMR with the Heart Laser may be your key to total
revascularization, complementing other modalities that include
bypass surgery, angioplasty, stenting and drug therapies.
The Heart Laser offers a unique combination of technical
features that provide clinical advantages over other lasers:
 |
Specifically designed for TMR |
 |
High-power 1000-watt energy
|
 |
Computer synchronized |
 |
Single-pulse technology |
 |
User-friendly touch screen controls |
